What does your role as marketing and creative director for Sauce Pizza and Wine entail?

Patti: As the marketing and creative director, my role covers the visual and creative aspects of Sauce Pizza and Wine, including the brand identity and all the marketing content related to the restaurant.

How do you help new franchisees with their marketing efforts?

Patti: One of the first questions we are asked by new franchisees is “How do I market myself”? We have an incredible team that will help with that. Anything our franchisees need, we have the assets to do it for them. From digital marketing to in-store marketing, and even local community marketing, we put together a nice game plan created specifically for that location. We take the worry off the franchisee who may not be as marketing-savvy so they can focus on running the restaurant.

We do a great job of researching and having boots on the ground when it comes to marketing each location. We want to feel like we’re grassroots and be involved within the community. We look for ways to give back and stay in-tune about what the city is doing that we can be part of. Essentially, we can scale our marketing efforts to your location.

What makes for an ideal Sauce Pizza and Wine franchisee?

Patti: If you are going to buy into the Sauce Pizza and Wine brand, you need to have passion, commitment, and a love of community. We are looking for franchisees who are eager to buy into our system and believe in what we’re trying to do.

What is it about the Sauce Pizza and Wine that makes it poised for growth and ready for franchisees to buy in?

Patti: The brand is established and recognizable. We are a staple here in Arizona–if you think about fast casual Italian, Sauce Pizza and Wine is the spot to go to. We have covered the Valley and I think we have the systems in place to expand into any part of the country. We’re providing a high-quality product at an affordable price. But when you come to Sauce Pizza and Wine, you don’t feel like you’re at a fast casual restaurant – it’s so much more.

What do you see as the brand identity of Sauce Pizza and Wine?

Patti: We’ve developed the brand and identity of Sauce Pizza and Wine over the past 20 years. No matter which location you visit, you can see that it’s stylish and feels comfy and homey. Yes, it’s an Italian restaurant, but it also has a vibrant and youthful atmosphere to it. We strive to maintain that feel throughout our locations and in our digital assets, marketing materials, etc.

We like to maintain what has worked and what has been proven over the years as a brand. We have established who we are into our look, our feel, and our menu. But we’re always willing to innovate and be creative as well.

What makes you most proud to work at Sauce Pizza and Wine?

Patti: I’m most proud of the success of Sauce Pizza and Wine over the last two decades. It’s an incredible achievement in this market. It shows that we are a true brand and that our formula is successful. We have the systems in place and are here to help franchisees who buy into the system find success.

Name one thing at Sauce Pizza and Wine that separates you from the competition

Patti: I’d say our beverage and wine program is something that separates us from other fast casual establishments. We curate everything and it’s locally sourced. We also have our own red and white wine that is delicious!

What’s your favorite menu item at Sauce Pizza and Wine?

Patti: Our menu is so extensive and fantastic! Pizzas baked in a brick oven come out fast. Our paninis and meatballs are handmade. We use fresh, locally sourced ingredients. One of my favorites, which is known and loved by everybody from children to adults, is our mac and cheese.
